Abstract Students will engage in a lively discussion of what it means to be fair-minded, accept opposing points of view, respect well-supported positions, be sensitive to cultural similarities and differences, and be committed to accept individual and social responsibility after reading The Butter Battle Book, and will then create a visual timeline in the form of race track that illustrates the arms/space race, including any major events and technology that was created during the Cold War.
